Interessant at SK var så dypt inne i internasjonalt arbeid tidlig. SQ sitt samarbeid var med Malaysia i begynnelsen. Thai sliter med noe av de samme strukturelle problemene som SAS siden de er bygget opp på noe av samme strukturen. Statlig eierskap kombinert med ansiennitetsprinsippet og en Thailandsk (u)kultur med å unngå konfrontasjoner gjør at de sliter økonomisk. I Thailand er det også tradisjon for å ansette bekjente heller enn folk som kan noe, det preger dessverre store deler av både utdanning og forretningsliv.
