Har meldt meg på secret flyer sitt nyhetsbrev og får jevnlig eposter som denne (men vanligvis kun øko:)

Spørsmålet er: funker dette? Får noen faktisk booket disse turene og blir de opprettholdt fra flyselskapene?

FUEL DUMP: Lie-flat business class from USA to Europe for an insane $239 roundtrip
Welcome to another of Secret Flying’s Fuel Dumps.

We provide hints to the best working fuel dumps.
You can then try and find the strike using the Secret Flying Fuel Dumping Tool.

If you would rather not spend time using the FD Tool, you can now pay for FAST TRACK to gain access to an eBook that reveals the strike details (see bottom of this article).

If you do not know what Fuel Dumping is, please read Fuel Dumping: the basics
This article is strictly for educational purposes only. Should you choose to book a fuel dumped ticket, Secret Flying bears no responsibility whatsoever.

This week’s Fuel Dump is for business class flights from the USA to Europe.
We’re talking about REAL business class. Lie-flat seats business class!!
By using a 1x strike, you can remove ALL of the ticket’s fuel surcharge.

As you can see below, the ITA Matrix breakdown of the New York to Dublin business class fare shows that the base fare total is only $99. This is insanely cheap for a long-haul business class ticket – a price you will only typically see on an Error Fare.
Even after dumping the flight, this must be paid along with taxes.

The fuel surcharge (Carrier-imposed surcharge (YR)), which is a whopping $1900, is what is getting completely dumped by this trick.
We have NEVER seen a base fare to fuel surcharge ratio this large. This is like the holy grail of fuel dumping!!

The reason the base fare is so cheap is because the airline has made the fuel surcharge ridiculously expensive. Perfect for fuel dumping"

    Interessant! ChatGPT to the rescue:

Fuel dumping aims to eliminate or significantly reduce fuel surcharges, which are additional fees airlines add to the base fare of a ticket to cover the cost of aviation fuel. Here's a simplified explanation of how fuel dumping could theoretically work to reduce or get rid of these surcharges:

    1. **Identifying the "Third Leg":** The key to fuel dumping is finding and adding an unnecessary leg to your flight itinerary. This is often referred to as the "third leg" or "throwaway leg." The idea is that adding this extra leg, which the traveler has no intention of using, can somehow trigger a glitch or loophole in the airline's pricing system.

    2. **Pricing Glitch or Loophole:** In some cases, the addition of this third leg can cause the airline's pricing algorithm to recalculate the entire fare, including fuel surcharges, for the whole itinerary. This recalculation can sometimes lead to a lower total cost, where the fuel surcharges are either drastically reduced or eliminated.

    3. **Complexity and Unpredictability:** It's important to understand that fuel dumping is highly complex and unpredictable. Airlines use sophisticated, dynamic pricing models, and what might work for one itinerary or set of dates might not work for another. Finding such itineraries often requires extensive knowledge of how airline pricing works and a lot of trial and error.

    4. **Risks and Consequences:** Airlines are aware of fuel dumping and consider it a violation of their fare rules. If caught, the airline may cancel your ticket, deny boarding, or take other punitive actions. Additionally, there is a risk of the traveler being stranded or facing other travel complications, especially if part of the itinerary is canceled.

    5. **Ethical and Legal Considerations:** Using fuel dumping to avoid paying the full fare, including fuel surcharges, raises ethical and legal questions. It's generally seen as exploiting a loophole in the pricing system and is against airline policies.

Due to these complexities, risks, and ethical concerns, most travelers choose to seek cheaper airfares through conventional methods, such as booking in advance, using fare comparison websites, or taking advantage of airline promotions and loyalty programs.
